Race with us on the exciting Melges 24!
In our opinion the Melges 24 offers the best one design keelboat racing ever. Its powerful and planes downwind like a motorboat. Learn how to race with an experienced skipper and ply your wits and skill against the best. If you want to try racing this is your chance!
We offer a week long race course to sailors who want to compete in the Melges 24 class on Lake Tahoe and beyond. You do not need to have any prior sailing experience and you do not have to be exceptionally strong. Women can be just as good as men in these boats. A week long course goes like this:
1) Monday, you'll learn how to rig the boat, how the lines work, analyze wind, how to tack and gybe.
2) Tuesday, you'll learn how to set, douse, trim and gybe the spinnaker.
3) Wednesday, we do our first racing in the Wednesday Night Beer Can Race with a great party afterwards.
4) Thursday, you'll learn the 3 different douses.
5) Friday we Race followed by another great party...
6) Saturday we Race and hopefully take home some hardware!
